Multitasking does not increase productivity
When asked, people who multitask claim that they are good at it although data shows that they are not more productive than people focusing on one task at the time1. This may be due to different effects, Ahrens cites the exposure effect as the driving cause of why multi-taskers have low meta-cognition.
