Eratosthenes was the director of the great library of alexandria
Eratosthenes Measurement of the Circumference of the Earth is not the only reason why he is known. He was also director of Alexandria's library (appointed by Ptolemy III)[@vallejomoreu2019El infinito en un junco: la invención de los libros en el Mundo Antiguo]. As such, he was aware of the different languages of the known world. He was the first to express the linguistic and ethnic diversity of the world.
