The making of a manager: what to do when everyone looks to you

Julie Zhuo has been a manager at Facebook for a long time, including when Facebook was "small". The book is an honest recount of her struggles of when she became a manager for the first time. She is a designer and has been working (as far as I can tell) as one, in different capacities.
To be honest, I read the entire book and feel there was not much actionable insight. It was a relatable story about managers, and learning things for the first time. However, most of the insights felt pre-packaged. Just because something worked for me does not mean it works for everyone.
Overall, I can say it was enjoyable, because it reads like you would be talking to someone who has tried what you may be willing to attempt when you become a manager.
