OvCa (Ovarian Cancer Cell) is being used as a model to test using EVs as biomarkers [@mizenko2021Tetraspanins are unevenly distributed across single extracellular vesicles and bias sensitivity to multiplexed cancer biomarkers]. The markers most commonly used are CD24, EpCAM, and Her2. However, it is important to note that Tetraspanins are unevenly distributed across extracellular vesicles and therefore the robustness of the methods may be subject to biases still not accounted for.
