One of the roles of managers is to coach their team to make them perform at their best.

Kata refers to a practice that is repeated over and over again until it becomes part of the self and does not require further thoughts.

While coaching is the fundamental way of making people achieve better outcomes.

If we include Kaizen into the mix, we can see how this is a powerful pattern:

We coach people to perform a task and wonder if it worked or not as intended, learn from it, try again, and get better in the process.

It is linked to the PDCA cycle as envisioned by Toyota.
